A bold and creamy Cajun sausage pasta made in one skillet with smoky sausage, tender penne, and a rich Cajun-spiced cream sauce—perfect for a comforting dinner with Southern flair.
Ingredients

12 oz penne pasta

12 oz Andouille sausage, sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, diced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1½ cups heavy cream

½ cup chicken broth
-
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional garnish: parsley, extra cheese, chili flakes
Instructions

Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium. Brown sliced sausage until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Sauté onion and bell peppers in the same skillet for 4–6 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Sprinkle in Cajun seasoning. Pour in broth and cream, stirring to combine. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.

Stir in Parmesan and cooked sausage. Add pasta and toss well. Use pasta water to adjust thickness if needed.

Simmer 2–3 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with garnishes.
Notes
Use gluten-free pasta if needed. Substitute sausage with shrimp or chicken for variation. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days.
